Since launching in 2020, we have built and implemented mentoring programs within companies, and for our fashion community, in-turn helping over 400 people from diverse backgrounds and communities to thrive.
We consider mentoring to be a powerful tool to support diverse talent, providing individuals with a structured framework where experienced professionals can guide and empower individuals from underrepresented backgrounds, offering career advice, skill development, and opportunities for growth.
What are the business benefits of mentoring programs?
The benefits extend beyond individual growth. Our programs help diverse talent navigate challenges, build confidence, and develop the skills necessary for leadership roles, contributing to their personal and professional success.
From a broader perspective, mentoring programs contribute to the overall evolution of the company. They increase employee engagement, retention, and loyalty by showing a genuine commitment to developing diverse talent.
Mentorship also encourages knowledge sharing, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation as employees of all backgrounds come together.
This not only boosts the morale of diverse employees but also strengthens the company’s competitiveness in the marketplace by ensuring a variety of perspectives are represented at all levels. Ultimately, mentoring programs are a key element in creating an inclusive, dynamic, and forward-thinking organisational culture.
How does it work?
MRG mentoring programmes can benefit organisations of varying sizes, across industries and location.
We work with your team to understand the desired outcomes, and use our tried and tested framework to create a tailored solution for both the mentors and mentees.
Our team recruit relevant parties to the cohort, sifting through their applications to identify those who will most benefit from the experience.
We then provide those who are on boarded onto the programme with training sessions that equip them with the knowledge and best practice of how to navigate the experience.
Participants have found the training to be a useful tool that allows the pair to foster a good relationship, and can further equip the mentor with deeper learning of the challenges that people from underrepresented communities can face.
Throughout the programme, a dedicated coordinator engages with participants to understand how they are progressing, and to address any questions, comments or concerns that arise.
At the close of the programme we collate responses from the cohort to create an impact report that measures how participants have found the experience, and if they have achieved their goals.
Where possible we facilitate in person group networking opportunities, allowing the cohort to connect and immerse themselves into the community.
